About this Talk
Lots of stuff goes into weaving a good story. You’ve gotta have a heroine, a baddie, a problem, maybe even an explosion or two. That’s fun, but as an indigenous CHamoru woman, I can’t help but weave in some åmot (medicine) and inafa'maolek (making life good for one another). Let’s chat about the ways these themes can be woven into modern tales. And how, through purpose and practice, the writer becomes an alchemist: a channel for creating, transforming, and transmuting. In these turbulent times, embracing inafa'maolek is true, and ancient, åmot for the writer, reader, and the world.
